We’re so proud that the RNLI is Aquapac’s national charity partner for 2022. For the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this year, we’re hoping to raise at least £70,000 for the RNLI, to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70th anniversary on the throne. Great achievements deserve great fundraising efforts.
Throughout the year we’re organising a number of fundraising events, as well as donating a percentage of our waterproof phone cases, waterproof Keymaster card & key cases and waterproof VHF radio case website retail sales to the RNLI. The RNLI charity helps save lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24/7 search and rescue service around the UK and the Channel Islands. The charity operates 238 lifeboat stations and more than 240 lifeguard units on UK and Irish beaches.
It’s independent to the Coastguard and government and relies on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since it was founded in 1824, the RNLI lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,000 lives. By sharing the RNLI’s safety messaging on our channels and across our product ranges we love the idea we can reach millions of people with vital lifesaving information together. Aquapac is a world leading sustainable waterproof case manufacturer and supplier who aim to protect and empower people to enjoy their water activities worry-free. The RNLI currently use Aquapac waterproof pouches for lifeguard VHF radios.
RNLI Fundraising Events in 2022
We have lots of events supporting the RNLI running through-out this year. First up one of our directors, David, has taken on an epic sponsored cycling trip across Scotland’s North Coast 500 mile cycle route. Starting & finishing at Inverness, the seven day cycle saw David face tough climbs & testing terrain around the mountainous coastal regions of the Scottish Highlands.
His fundraising cycle consisted of approximately 10,000 metres of climbing averaging 70 miles per day. The wild yet picturesque route passed by three RNLI Lifeboat Stations – Thurso, Invergordon, and Kessock. If you want to congratulate David on his efforts you can sponsor him here.
On Friday 1st July Aquapac Founder Max Malavasi will set off on a 17.5 mile walk along the Thames in order to raise funds for the RNLI. The fundraising walk will begin at Tower Lifeboat Station and finish at Teddington Lifeboat Station. This walk is to celebrate 20 years of RNLI stations in London. They were set up as a result of the Marchioness disaster in 1989. The main campaigner for these stations to be created was Eileen Dallaglio, mother of Lawrence, England Rugby World Cup winner, who is joining Max on the walk. ‘We are honoured to have Lawrence join us’ says Max.
In 2021, the RNLI launched a total of 947 times, aiding over 250 people and saving over 20 lives across the four London stations. Every £1/€1 donated will help the RNLI weather the storm and make a lifesaving difference, not only to the people they rescue and their loved ones, but to the crew and their families too.

The RNLI and Aquapac are urging anyone planning a coastal visit or an activity on the water this summer to carry a means of calling for help and keep it within reach. Whether you are planning a walk along the coast, looking to paddleboard for the first time or an experienced sailor heading out on a trip, having a means to call help if you get into difficulty could save your life.
Partnering up with the RNLI enables us at Aquapac to promote the vital message about learning Water Safety Skills, How to Float and Swim Safe. Watch our partnership water safety video here and stay safe in the water this summer.
