Why would I need desiccant?
To absorb condensation in humid conditions. In humid climates there will be moisture in the air sealed inside the case. With cameras, this moisture tends to condense inside the lens. Desiccant sachets will absorb any such moisture, keeping the contents completely dry. Many of our cases come ready supplied with one or more desiccant sachets. We recommend use of desiccant sachets in all Aquapacs in humid climates. To buy desiccant sachets, click here.

Will I really hear through the case?
Yes, you should be able to use your phone or radio handset normally inside an Aquapac. There is very little loss of volume, since sound waves travel straight through the plastic. If you’d like to see a sound recordist demonstrating the use of an Audio Recorder inside an Aquapac, click here (opens in a new tab).

Will I really get good photos?
Absolutely! For tips and advice on how to get the best results click on the Additional Information tab on the product you’re thinking of buying. Not every shot you take is going to be perfect, but here is a wonderful example of a photo taken through an Aquapac:

If you want to see more examples check out this Flickr pool (opens in a new tab) which is full of shots uploaded by our customers. We hope to see you adding your own photos there soon!

Can I repair a leak?
In some instances, yes. Over the years we’ve tested a load of things to find the best solutions for repairs, and here’s some which did NOT work too well…

Hot Glue Gun – not a permanent bond to the case
Superglue – doesn’t work at all
Duct Tape – peels off and leaves a sticky residue
Electrical Tape, Scotch Tape – don’t stick properly and they’re not waterproof
Soldering Iron – burnt TPU gives off nasty fumes, strongly recommend against!
Elastoplast – now that’s just silly.

Therefore we introduced our own range of Puncture Patches™ with which you can fix small holes and tears.
If you’re not sure, send us a photo of the damage and we’ll tell you what you – or we – can do to fix it.
